Talking through a job so it prices properly

Help · Quoting a job

Talk the way you'd explain the job to the customer standing next to you. No form, no order, no keywords.

Three things worth remembering:

Say the sizes. "Twelve metre run", "forty square metres of wall", "three-bed semi". It can't measure what you don't tell it, and it will say so rather than invent a number.

Say the labour. This is the one people leave out. "Two days, me and the labourer." Without it the app has to guess, and it'll tell you it guessed — but your figure is always better than its estimate.

Say what you're not doing. "No kitchen", "customer's supplying the tiles", "scaffold's already up". Exclusions keep the price honest and keep the argument off the invoice.

You don't have to get it right in one go. Say it, look at it, then hold the mic again and change what's wrong.
